Batungbacal's visits to Barcelona were a recurrent affair, primarily to spend time with her cousin Issa, who had taken up residence in an apartment on Calle d'Aribau. It was during these stays that she found herself intrigued by the neighboring building's "funky yet classy" facade, which, in her eyes, embodied the essence of the city.

The composition and vantage point of the painting suggests that Batungbacal continued to perceive Barcelona with the eyes of an entranced traveler, preserving a certain sense of distance and wonder.
