Bea Batungbacal (b.1998) is a painter whose works reflect the diversity and style of places, people, and settings, often translated into detailed, vibrant images that capture the complexities and mundanities of everyday life. Trained as a competitive athlete, she illustrates her observations through compositions where the foreground and the background appear to be wrangling for dominance in presenting narratives anchored in either movement or stillness to visually define time. Her works were featured in a solo exhibition at the Rosenblut & Friedmann Gallery in Spain, and in group presentations in Manila and Seoul. She received her BA in Communication from Ateneo De Manila University and studied at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid under ADMU’s Junior Term Abroad Program.
